Student drug use is a major concern across the world.  As educators, we need to be aware of the vast array of legal and illegal drugs, how they are used, their effects on the human body and behavior and how to spot there usage.   In order to properly discuss these topics with our students, teaching related staff need to have a solid knowledge base about these chemicals and their effects. This course covers a wide variety of chemicals which include but are not limited to:  energy drinks, caffeine, nicotine, OxyContin, Ambien, GHB(Date rape drug), alcohol, marijuana, ecstasy, methamphetamines, LSD, and heroin.  

This course is appropriate for both general education and special education teachers of students in grades K-12 and is worth 45 hours of professional development.
