This course has been developed to help users develop academic language across all curriculums.  Regardless of the content and level that you teach, developing academic language should always be an integral part of your lessons.  Many helpful strategies are covered in this course.  Some of topics that you can expect to learn include but are not limited to: Facilitating whole class discussions for content and language development, teaching the skills of academic listening and speaking, building language development into lessons and class assessments and incorporating language for reading and creating complex texts.

This course is appropriate for both general education and special education teachers of students in grades K-12 and is worth 45 hours of professional development.
